The Featured Artist today is Jenny who is the artist and designer behind Jennyluanart over at Zazzle. She is a very Talented Artist who I have been lucky to get to know through selling my art there too. She describes herself as “made in Taiwan but has lived in California for more than 20 years”. Currently she has been based in Northern California for the last 4 years. She took ceramics in college, then became a hair stylist and make up artist of which she has been for the last 15 yrs. Back in 2011 whilst considering starting a nursing program and changing career paths she took basic drawing and enjoyed it so much she didn’t stop. She still considers herself as in the learning stage (do we ever stop learning?) though between you and me her pencil art skills are already at the incredibly talented level. She quit nursing school and now concentrates on her art, family as well as continuing her hair and make up stylist work. She quotes her inspirations as her Christian beliefs, children and husband, crediting her husband as the one who encouraging her to return to her art and being a great ongoing encouragement. She likes to work in both realism and fantasy, which is evident in her portfolio of work. She grew up reading lots of anime. Believing that first training in realistic drawing is a must to be able to produce nice fantasy art. As for mediums she loves oils but currently tends to stick more with coloured pencils as clean up is easier whilst carrying for a baby (which I can definitely relate to). This year year she intends to learn more in regards to digital art creation. And her hopes for the future is to make art until her very last breath. Please do check out Jenny’s store to see her talented fantasy/Anime inspired art and incredibly detailed realism art. Or check out a selection of her 30 most popular below.
